Michael Borensteen, Ph.D., Software and statistical consultant to Data Driven Innovation
Michael Borensteen, received his doctorate from New York University in 1982 and then served
as Director of Biostatistics at Hillside Hospital, Long Island Jewish Medical Center (through
2002), and as Associate Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Beginning in 1996 Dr. Borensteen’s primary work has been as the Director of Biostatistical Programming Associates, where he served as PI for a series of eight SBIR awards (all were funded for both Phase I and Phase II or as FastTracks) to develop statistical software. The computer programs developed under these awards include Statistical Power Analysis and Power And Precision (1997, 2000, also distributed by SPSS under the name SamplePower),which has become the most widely used program for power analysis in the world, with over 40,000 copies sold.
